Dr. Clifford Kang Attends 2026 Magna Carta Roundtable: Deepening Global Supply Chain Partnerships to Build a Win-Win Ecosystem

2026.03.12

London, March 12, 2026 — The 2026 Sustainable Market Initiative Magna Carta Roundtable and Exhibition was held in London, UK, from March 11 to 12. His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom attended the high-level reception of the Magna Carta event, while Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese business leaders to participate.

During the Magna Carta event, a dedicated China session was held under the theme “Win-Win Partnerships for Green Transformation.” Guests engaged in in-depth discussions on global roles in sustainable development and green transition, as well as the unique value and future trends of green supply chains. Dr. Clifford Kang, Vice President of SERES Group, was invited to share the company’s practices and insights in the fields of new energy vehicles and sustainability.

In 2025, China accounted for 60% of global NEV sales, maintaining its position as the world’s largest market for electric vehicles. As Dr. Kang highlighted, “Now we are entering a new phase where electrification and intelligent technologies go hand in hand. Smart driving and connected systems are leading the way.”

SERES continues to advance in both electrification and intelligent mobility. Its premium NEV brand, AITO, launched in 2021, recently surpassed one million deliveries, making it the top-selling premium Chinese auto brand in 2025. Dr. Kang emphasized the importance of “globalization for localization” for Chinese brands entering overseas markets—adapting to local regulations and actively engaging in local business ecosystems.

The shift to low-carbon, sustainable practices is accelerating worldwide, and Chinese NEV companies are playing an increasingly important leadership role. Dr. Kang outlined SERES’ commitments in this space, guided by clear targets and system-wide initiatives. The company has set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality in production and operations by 2045, with near-zero emissions across its entire value chain.

As Dr. Kang noted, “We believe sustainability cannot be achieved in isolation; it relies on a strong and interconnected ecosystem.” He reaffirmed SERES’ commitment to working closely with leading global supply chain partners to build a stable, collaborative foundation for the green transformation of the automotive industry.
